Longwood is located in Seminole County, Florida. It is apart of the Orland, Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area and has a population of over 13,000 residents as of the 2006 census. Much of Longwood’s economic growth is due to the military and space programs. Most residents are employed by Martin-Marietta’s missile plant, the Naval Air Station Sanford, McCoy Air Force Base, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Patrick Air Force Base and NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center.

Longwood residents have the luxury of being surrounded by many small lakes as well as the Atlantic Ocean. For those who enjoy a few rounds of golf there are several golf courses to choose from including the Winter Springs Golf Course and the Magnolia Plantation Golf Club. Traveling from city to city is also quite easy due to Interstate 4 and many other highways including 92, 434 and 17.
